Treatment - very little evidence
- Stop antidopaminergic agent
- Supportive treatment
- Prescribe dopaminergic agent (bromocriptine or amantidine)
- Or muscle relaxant (dantrolene)
- ECT?
Usually resolves within days, possibly accelerated by treatment
Reintroduction of antipsychotic may be possible
Recurrence may be more likely with early reintroduction
